Walk With God is an audio-Bible walking app. This policy describes what data the app
handles and why. The short version: your data is used to run the app for you — never
sold, never used for advertising.
Data we collect and why
Account — when you create an account (Apple, Google, or email),
we store your sign-in identifier and display name with Firebase Authentication
(Google LLC) so your data can sync across devices.
Walks and listening progress — your completed walks (duration,
distance, steps, calories), which Bible chapters you've listened to, streaks, and
step-goal settings are stored on your device and backed up to your private account
space in Google Cloud Firestore. Only you can access this data.
Location — with your permission, the app records your route
during a walk or run session to show your path and distance on a map. Routes
are stored with your walks in your private account space. Location is never collected
outside an active session.
Motion & fitness — with your permission, the app reads steps,
distance, and cadence from your device's motion sensors during sessions, and reads
steps, walking metrics, body mass, and active energy from Apple Health to show real
measurements and personalize estimates. Health data is read-only and is never written
to our servers except as part of your own walk records (steps/distance/calories per
walk).
Crash and diagnostic data — we use Firebase Crashlytics to
receive anonymized crash reports so we can fix bugs.
Audio — Bible audio streams from Faith Comes By Hearing's
servers; like any web request, their servers see your IP address.
What we don't do
No selling or sharing of personal data with third parties for their purposes.
No advertising, no trackers, no analytics profiles.
No reading of your Apple Health data beyond what's listed above.
Where data lives
On your device (Apple's SwiftData storage) and, when you're signed in, in your
private space in Google Cloud Firestore (project walk-with-god), protected
by security rules that only allow your authenticated account to read or write it.
Deleting your data
Settings → Account → Delete Account permanently removes your account
and all cloud data immediately, and clears the app's local records. You can also email
us (below) to request deletion.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data
from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and the date above.
