Walk With God is an audio-Bible walking app and website. We use data to provide
your experience and understand how people find and use the service. We do not sell
your data or use your Scripture, faith, health, or walking preferences to target
advertising.
Data we collect and why
Account — when you create an account (Apple, Google, or email),
we store your sign-in identifier and display name with Firebase Authentication
(Google LLC) so your data can sync across devices. A guest account lets you begin
without providing an email. The website creates this anonymous identity when you
begin the quiz; linking an email account lets you recover your journey on iPhone.
Quiz and journey preferences — your answers, such as your
Scripture routine and walking goals, personalize your plan. They are saved in
this browser and privately against your account in Firebase. Local quiz drafts
expire after 30 days. Saved account preferences remain available for recovery
until you replace them or delete your account. We do not send quiz answers or
Scripture choices to Google Analytics or Meta, and do not record the quiz screen.
Subscriptions — RevenueCat uses your account identifier and
purchase information to verify and restore access. For website checkout, your
billing email and payment details are processed by RevenueCat and its payment
provider. We store subscription status and verified transaction references, not
full payment-card details. See RevenueCat's
Privacy Policy.
Walks and listening progress — your completed walks (duration,
distance, steps, calories), which Bible chapters you've listened to, streaks, and
step-goal settings are stored on your device and backed up to your private account
space in Google Cloud Firestore. Access is restricted to your account and
authorized administrators managing the service and providing support.
Location — with your permission, the app records your route
during a walk or run session to show your path and distance on a map. Routes
are stored with your walks in your private account space. Location is never collected
outside an active session.
Motion & fitness — with your permission, the app reads steps,
distance, and cadence from your device's motion sensors during sessions, and reads
steps, walking metrics, body mass, and active energy from Apple Health to show real
measurements and personalize estimates. Health data is read-only and is never written
to our servers except as part of your own walk records (steps/distance/calories per
walk).
Crash and diagnostic data — we use Firebase Crashlytics to
receive anonymized crash reports so we can fix bugs.
Usage analytics — we use Google Analytics for Firebase to record
pseudonymous events about how the app is used (for example: finishing onboarding,
starting or completing a walk, completing a Selah reflection, enrolling in a plan).
This shows us which features help and where people get stuck so we can improve the app.
These events are tied to a random app-instance identifier — not your name or account —
and are never used for advertising, never sold, and never used to track you across other
apps or websites.
Website and journey measurement — optional analytics records
page visits, quiz steps, audio engagement, checkout, and first-walk milestones.
An opaque browser journey identifier and limited campaign labels help us compare
experiences. With analytics enabled, signing into a saved website account lets
our own reporting connect that journey to app recovery and verified purchases.
App Store installations and guest app use cannot always be matched. Generic
website events may go to Google Analytics, without your account identifier,
email, quiz answers, or passage choices. These events help assess our advertising;
they are not used to target you based on faith or health. First-party acquisition
events are scheduled for deletion after 180 days. You can opt out through
Analytics settings on the quiz or website privacy settings. We also honor Global
Privacy Control and Do Not Track. Other marketing pages may use session recording;
see website analytics and recording privacy.
Support conversations — Crisp loads on our homepage and support
page to display its chat icon and processes technical connection data such as your
IP address and browser information. In the iOS app, Crisp loads when you open chat.
When you message us, Crisp processes your messages and any attachments you choose
to send so we can respond.
In the iOS app, we also share your account ID, available name and email, and app
version to help troubleshoot your request. After you use in-app chat, Crisp also
receives your device push token to deliver reply notifications if you allow them.
Chat uses a session identifier to
remember your conversation. We do not send your walk routes, Health data, or
listening history to Crisp. You can choose email support instead.
Audio — Bible audio streams from Faith Comes By Hearing's
servers; like any web request, their servers see your IP address.
What we don't do
No selling or sharing of personal data with third parties for their purposes.
No in-app advertising and no tracking your activity in unrelated apps or websites.
No reading of your Apple Health data beyond what's listed above.
Where data lives
On your device (Apple's SwiftData storage) and, when you're signed in, in your
private space in Google Cloud Firestore (project walk-with-god), protected
by security rules and authenticated server endpoints. Your account can access its
own data; authorized administrators have access to operate and support the service.
Support conversations are processed and stored by Crisp on our behalf. Learn more
in Crisp's Privacy Policy.
Deleting your data
Settings → Account → Delete Account permanently removes your account
and your synced app data, including saved quiz preferences and linked journey
measurement, and clears the app's local records. Contact us if you cannot access
the app. Clearing this browser's site data removes its local quiz draft.
Deleting an account does not cancel a subscription. Manage cancellation through
the store or payment provider where you purchased. Those providers may retain
transaction records for billing, tax, fraud prevention, or other legal obligations.
Support conversations are stored separately; contact us by chat or email to request
deletion of those conversations.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data
from them.
